The flat is close to the city center and has a decent view of mattahorn, but it wasn't super clean. The second bed was a bit small. If you have lots of luggage or a pram, be aware there are stairs before you reach the building.

A handy place to stay while skiing and enjoying Zermatt.

I had a very comfortable stay in the spacious one-bedroom apartment. It's a vacation rental the owner rents through a property management company, and the large windows give it a great view. I enjoyed breakfast and lunch on the terrace, watching trekkers heading up the mountain, the river flowing, and the forest below. The apartment sits along a busy hotel district with restaurants and shops, but feels like a comfortable place to unwind away from the hustle and bustle. When you walk down the 16 stone steps from the entrance, the Matterhorn is right in front of you. I woke up to the candlelit Matterhorn many times during my stay. It's a great location and easy to reach from the station along a single road, though there are two steep hills on the way. You only have to climb them once going there and once coming back, and most of the route is flat if you're ready to drag a heavy suitcase. Towels, linens, kitchen supplies, shampoo, and other supplies are provided sparingly for a one-week stay, so you'll need to bring your own or buy them locally.
