A really good place for larger groups, with a nice wine list and dishes that were all quite good. The dry-age tartare was a standout, a great twist on traditional steak tartare. My wife’s beef skewers were a 7/10, while my veal was 10/10.

The rib eye is one of the best. Totally recommended. Book ahead if you want to be sure of getting a table. I recommend the first floor, since they do the steak on the ground floor.

The wood fire really comes through in the ribeye, and the Abu gratin and polenta sides were perfect. The elevated appetizers were great too, especially the Jerusalem artichokes. There’s a good by-the-glass wine menu with local reds. The menu is similar to others in town, but the execution is what makes this place stand out. So glad we came.

We were grateful that the restaurant eventually waived our 215 CHF meal bill, but it didn’t undo a stressful, uncomfortable evening that was meant to be special for my family. I dined with my children, aged 12 and 15, and a group of about 14 seated beside us was so loud we couldn’t hear our waitress or have a normal conversation. I raised it three times and eventually spoke to the maître d’. They were polite, but said the restaurant was full and couldn’t move us. Nobody spoke to the group or offered a real solution. After the noise continued through the meal, I got frustrated and spoke directly to them myself. I wish the restaurant had handled things differently; I felt ignored and unsupported. Management should take noise and guests’ experience more seriously, especially with large groups. Being more proactive could help everyone enjoy their meal.

Prices felt a little high for the quality, though some dishes were worth it. We tried 8 different plates: about 6 were tasty, well prepared and nicely presented, while 2 were just okay and nothing memorable. So it depended on what you ordered. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service attentive. It was a good meal, just not amazing, and I might return with more measured expectations.
