The room and sheets were clean, and the staff were very helpful. They gave me a small discount since I had to leave early and couldn’t have breakfast.

The location is good, and breakfast stands out for its wide range of options. The bathroom provision feels inadequate for the number of guests: each floor has 10 rooms with four beds apiece. During my three-night stay, the hand soap wasn’t refilled. There was very little staff around, and guests have to make their own beds and return the bedding at checkout. On the first night, children ran around and slammed doors loudly until 11 p.m.

I was on a cycling tour, and they have a shelter for bicycles. The website offered the best price, and breakfast was clean and great value. There were too many mosquitoes in my room at night, since the window needs to stay open in summer. Window screens would fix the problem.

The price was the main draw for me as a solo traveler on a budget. It was about 2-3 times cheaper than the next least expensive hotel around Zug. I only needed somewhere to sleep, so sharing the room with other people was fine. I had it to myself the first week, then a few roommates arrived the next. The room was very basic but clean, and the toilets were clean too. I didn't use the shower, so can't speak to it. The hostel is a couple of minutes from the train station, but the trains are quiet and didn't disturb me at night with the windows open. Breakfast was included and very good, and there's free Wi-Fi. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'd stay again. One thing to check: my key card opened the room but didn't work on the entrance door for some reason.
