The art around the hotel was stunning and gave the place so much character. We also loved the relaxed, fun atmosphere, delicious food and amazing hammam. Everyone on staff was friendly. Huge thanks to Alicia, who served us into the early hours and kept such a great mood, and to Stepanka for being so kind and welcoming. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed every moment.

We paid about 330 a night, which felt very reasonable for Switzerland given the location and amenities. The rooms were good, the beds comfortable in all three we booked, and everything was well equipped, though nothing felt especially luxurious. The staff were exceptionally friendly at reception, breakfast and dinner. We ate at the hotel one evening and were pleasantly surprised: the dishes were high quality, tasted great and looked great, while the prices, including wine, were moderate.

We spent two nights here. The area is sensational for hiking and mountaineering, and some of our best moments were outdoors nearby. The restaurant and bar menus were very good, with delicious seasonal food. I’d recommend eating there even if you’re just hiking through or staying elsewhere in Zuoz. Our room was a huge letdown. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the pillows were old and flat. The lighting could be simpler: to use the bathroom at night, you had to turn on the main light. We knew the hotel attracted high-end customers, but our Standard room felt like the smallest one, tucked in a corner with very few amenities and little care put into it. The hotel itself is beautiful, and I’m sure most of the rooms are lovely, but ours felt like a makeshift box to fit in more guests. I’d suggest upgrading from Standard if you want the full hotel experience.

I’ve been coming here nearly every year since I was a child, and the staff have always been kind and accommodating. The ski slope is right by the hotel: carry your skis to the entrance and you can get straight onto it. The Hammam is heavenly, beautiful to look at and well set up for unwinding. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal here, either. Everything is delicious, and they have good choices for people with dietary restrictions.
