Hostel Abidjan

I couldn't relax during my stay because I didn't know what the woman might do next. After I argued with her about dirty dishes and other kitchen issues, she threatened to throw hot oil from a frying pan on me, then threw a bamboo pot stand and hit my leg with a broomstick, leaving a wound. The owners intervened and promised to move her, but they didn't. Later, when I went to make dinner, my packet of steak was gone. I suspected her, and the hostel compensated me for it. The kitchen was often left messy, with dishes and cookware from the previous day still unwashed, against the house rules. The manager didn't seem concerned and was often asleep on the couch. Management doesn't enforce its own rules, and the whole situation ruined my stay.
