Hotel Akwa Beach

We came from Abidjan, and seeing the stars above the palm trees at night was a treat. Our family of five stayed three weekdays at Akwa Beach Hotel, and there were hardly any other guests, so it was quiet and peaceful. The staff were kind, attentive, and responsive to what we needed, while the grounds and pool were beautiful and well kept. We had meals overlooking the lagoon, especially enjoying the hamburgers and gambas. A full continental breakfast comes with the room. A short boat trip across the lagoon gets you to the beach, where we enjoyed the surf and sand. The waves are quite rough, and we had lunch at a beachfront restaurant. We highly recommend it for some peace and rest away from the city bustle.

The boat ride to the beach could be better, and the whole experience has room to improve. Still, the morning buffet is nice and the brunch is plentiful. The pool is warm, the food is nicely done, and the rooms are clean with a five-star bathroom. It's a great place.

Food costs a bit more, but this is a lovely spot for a quiet, relaxing holiday. The rooms are a good standard, and the clean, peaceful surroundings offer a few enjoyable activities for a solo trip or a family stay.

We stayed four nights and had a clean room with a nice balcony view. Service was generally good. The restaurant food was tasty, though rather expensive for its quality. There was a power cut one morning.
