The setting is hard to beat, right by the beach, with fantastic ocean views. The rooms were comfy and clean, and the restaurant was excellent. It wasn't cheap at $100 per night, but the location is the best. There's no pool, and the gym is quite old and has no AC. Otherwise, no complaints.

Frank kindly invited us to sit, and we'd already chosen our food from the menu, so being told the kitchen was closed after we waited to order felt insulting and disrespectful. We came to dine at 9:45pm and were welcomed after asking if we could eat, but no one came to take our order, so we had to stand up to place it. A woman there seemed to be acting like a boss, then was obviously laughing at us with her friends while they drank and acted powerful. Awful experience. If you accept diners, you can't close the kitchen on them. This is basic common sense. You wasted our time and energy and made us feel abused and disrespected.

We only ate dinner there, and both the service and food were good. The owner used to represent GTZ in Côte d'Ivoire, knows a lot about the area, and can help arrange trips to the Thaï forest.

I couldn't stay because no room was available, but the hotel is beautiful and simple. I loved the beach and the big rock.
