Avana Waterfront Apts

The beach and jetty were a lovely bonus, with fish and turtles showing up most days and beautiful sunrises. Our two-bedroom apartment had plenty of space for three adult friends, both inside and around the property. What a find.

We’ve brought our large family group to Avana Waterfront Apartments for the last two years, and it’s worked beautifully for adults and kids, including toddlers. The apartments are spacious, clean, well maintained, and the grounds are carefully looked after. Desiree is a wonderful host, always available and bringing fresh bananas for the kids. The beach below is safe and easy to reach, and there’s a pool for swimming. We’ve watched fish from the jetty in the early morning, and last year we saw rays along the shore. Free kayaks make it an easy paddle across the lagoon to another lovely beach. It’s an excellent base, walkable to Muri Beach, a short drive from town, and only 10-15 minutes from the other side of the island when you need shelter from the wind. Having cooking appliances, full sized fridges, and washing machines made preparing meals easy. We’ll definitely come back in the coming years.

We saw turtles, rays, fish and all kinds of sea life right by the apartments, thanks to the free snorkelling and kayaking gear. The pool gets sunshine all day, with shade available when you want it. Lovely apartments in a beautiful spot, highly recommend.

Close to Muri and the night markets, and a good fit for family groups, though not if you’re after a quiet stay. The place is clean and tidy and the location is great, but it could use a refurb. Wifi costs extra and mostly connected downstairs. Starlink by the swimming pool worked really well, which was handy after a day out and at night when the pool area was empty. You’ll need a car for the larger supermarkets and town centre.
