Frederick and Ngamata's Beach House

The little studio house was cute, comfortable and well equipped. Its spot right on the beach is almost perfect, though maybe a bit too close to the road. The management, though, made the stay more stressful than it needed to be. We only had the property manager’s phone number, but had no cell service. We sent a message through Booking.com and got no reply, so eventually we had to ask a local to use their phone. We weren’t told where to find the somewhat hidden entry keypad. There were no clear instructions about rubbish, WiFi or other household matters, either. We went days without hot water because we couldn’t get hold of management. Then we woke in the middle of the night and spent an hour watching for and killing about half a dozen cockroaches. For the last couple of nights, we were anxious they’d crawl on us or our things while we slept. A more proactive property manager could make this a five-star place. Booking.com wouldn’t let me leave a review after the stay. I can’t help wondering if it was because they knew I hadn’t had a great time and didn’t want a bad review, though my complaint is about the management, not the place itself.
