Motu Beachfront Art Villas

The villas were beautiful, and lazy afternoons by the pool and the people we met left us with memories we’ll keep. Chester, the resident dog, was gorgeous and always there to greet us. As animal lovers, it felt like home. We had five wonderful nights at Motu and were sad to go, but we’ve promised ourselves we’ll return. From the moment we arrived, the staff were lovely and made us feel welcome. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. Five stars all around, and thanks for such a great stay.

We stayed in Villa 8, around 50 metres from the beach, and every villa has an ocean view. Some evenings were a bit breezy for sitting on a beachfront villa deck, but we could sit outside in a sheltered spot and enjoy the lights in the tropical gardens. The fridge goodies covered a few breakfasts, and the supermarket across the road made it easy to restock. E-bikes were a godsend for getting to local restaurants, with some within walking distance too. The staff, from reception to grounds and cleaning, went out of their way to make things easy and relaxing. The accommodation’s attention to detail was second to none. Chester, the resident dog, was such a sweet boy and always happy to see us. The photos probably give away how much we loved him. Motu felt like heaven on earth. So sad to leave, but we’ll be back. xx

Snorkelling is right outside the door. Our bungalow was fabulous, spacious and well equipped, with a beautiful big bathroom, comfy bed and lovely bedding. When we arrived, the kitchen had eggs, two cheeses and crackers, bread, vegetables, coffee, milk and juice. And almost forgot the two beers and a nice bottle of champagne! Everything you’ve heard about MOTU being amazing is true. The whole staff are welcoming, engaging and supportive. We’ve travelled all over the world and have never been cared for better.

We loved how easy it was to explore the reef right out front with the provided mask, snorkel and fins, and to cruise around the island on the e-bikes. The canoe and paddle board were there too. Inside, the kitchen had everything, including a Nespresso and milk frother; the bedrooms were comfortable and airy, and the whole place was bright, clean and welcoming. The hosts, Clare and Amy, made it feel personal and special. They were so welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay memorable. They’re absolute gems! The ocean-side villa was spotless, beautifully maintained and stocked with everything we needed. You’re just steps from the water, with gorgeous ocean views. It was a lovely balance of relaxation and adventure: coffee with a view of the reef, days snorkelling or biking, and comfortable evenings. We can’t wait to come back for another Pacific getaway.
