Geotel Antofagasta

I found this place through a last-minute Booking deal and got to spend two wonderful days at a great price. The staff were so welcoming and friendly that they remembered my name. It's comfortable, with air conditioning, secure parking on site, and a delicious international breakfast and restaurant food. The room looks straight out over the ocean, and you can hear the waves. It's quiet, away from town traffic, and well placed for arriving by car from the south or east, so I slept well. It seems popular with business travelers. Thanks to the staff, and keep up the good work!

Tired from arriving later than planned, I was overcharged at check-in. I spotted it the next day and raised it with the front desk. They first denied it, then agreed to refund the difference after I showed my original booking. They said the money might take a while to reach my account, so I asked them to confirm the refund in writing. I still have that agreement, but the money hasn't arrived. I've emailed several times with a copy attached and haven't received any response. Very disappointing. I can't recommend this hotel.

The room was spacious, with an ocean view and kitchenette, and breakfast was included and good. Parking was large, secure, and big enough for tall or large vehicles. Prices changed from night to night: we paid 68 dollars for the first night and 42 for the last. Over a year of traveling in South America, Geotel Antofagasta was probably our best value for money.

The buffet at the hotel restaurant was just okay, though there was a decent variety. Only one small beverage was included. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice view, and the bathroom was nice too, though the shower was small.
