The rooms were nicer and more comfortable than I expected, and the showers got properly hot.

We left feeling uncomfortable and glad to be out of there. The walls and windows were so thin, and our room was right by the common area. After a long day of travel, we wanted to sleep early, but guests and staff played FIFA through the night. We raised it, and things were quieter the next day, though someone knocked on our door while passing in the night, seemingly to comment on our asking for quiet. It made us feel unwelcome, and we really didn’t like the atmosphere. There were problems from the start. We rang the bell five times before staff let us in, apparently because the music was too loud for them to hear. Then, when we tried to check in at 17:30, our room wasn’t ready, so staff had to prepare it. The shower drainage was poor: the bathroom flooded, and water eventually ran into our room. A few days after leaving, we posted a critical review on Booking.com, having already had a very bad stay. We’d also seen another review describing a similar experience and decided to post on Google. Four days after we left, the hostel cancelled our reservation, implying we had never checked in. We were shocked and felt they had done it because they didn’t want a negative review. In my view, a hostel or hotel should take customer feedback on board and learn from it, rather than trying to remove criticism. I can’t recommend this place. If you enjoy your stay, you may have no problems, but criticism of any kind apparently isn’t tolerated, and they make that clear. I hope this helps other travellers and reminds the hostel that feedback, whether positive or negative, matters and should be appreciated.

The rooftop was lovely, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We spent five days here and really enjoyed it. The place was very clean, close to the center, and surrounded by nice restaurants. The staff were helpful, and Gabriel always got back to us quickly when we had questions. Thanks to Gabriel for making such a nice place for travelers. 100% recommended.

The septic tank was being emptied from the hostel’s central corridor, and the whole place smelled like poo. The volunteers also barely spoke to us, just giving us side eye and keeping their distance, despite the reviews saying how great they are. We stayed two nights as a stop on the way to Peru. To keep costs down while planning the next part of our trip, we bought groceries to cook, but the wifi didn’t reach our room at all, as another review had mentioned. On our first night, there was no gas. Nobody on staff told us; we found out after a cold shower and an unsuccessful attempt to cook dinner. The volunteers had hidden away, seemingly to avoid dealing with guests. We had to message both the phone number and Instagram to get an answer. When the gas came back, the volunteers came out to cook their own food, and we had to wait more than an hour. We asked for a refund because of all the problems, and were almost blackmailed into writing a positive review before they would return any money. That made us wonder how many of the positive reviews were genuine and how many were attempts to hide how poor the place is. We refused the refund and are leaving reviews to warn people away. Lots to say here, and none of it positive. Avoid it if you can.

Really wish I could've stayed longer. The staff were so friendly, and the whole place had great vibes. I had a wonderful time. Thanks for making it such a good experience.
