Hotel Don Manuel

We came across this hotel by chance and were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are roomy and clean, and the location is pretty good. I'd recommend it for a short stay.

The breakfast needs work. There was no milk, little variety in the cold cuts, and no coffee beans. I'd expect butter rather than margarine, and a hotel breakfast should feel like one. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this really needs attention. The construction noise also made it very hard to sleep. I hope it was only happening at night.

The staff were pleasant and attentive, and the room was comfortable. For the price, this is a very good hotel with excellent service. It doesn't have a cafeteria, and parking isn't on site, which are the only things I missed.

We left because we were traveling with a baby and the problems became too much. We'd booked a two-room apartment hotel through Booking.com, but were given one large room with two double beds, which didn't match the hostel's plan. The bedding and towels also showed little attention to quality. Parking was on dirt, shared with several mining trucks, and our vehicle, which isn't small, barely fit. At night, a truck blocked the lot entrance. My husband had to get out and report it, and we waited while they found whoever was blocking the gate. The front desk woman was very friendly and apologized for all the trouble. Still, the hostel is in a central area that's difficult at night, and most of its users are miners. I wouldn't recommend it for families.
