Hostal Y Cabaña «Casa Grande»

For a reasonable price, you get a cute room, a nice hot shower, a usable kitchen, and fast internet. What more could you ask for?

My wife arranged and paid for the stay without any trouble. There were six of us, but four are keen campers, so it was good that the older couple could get some proper rest. They stayed two nights and said everything was clean and in good shape. The rules were clear and straightforward, and everything went fine, so that's enough for me to say the place was satisfactory. We arrived late, almost 11 pm, and took the last room. We asked if we could make something hot to eat, but the woman said the kitchen closed at 11, so we brought our suitcases inside and went to find food. She said the place closed at midnight. When we explained we'd be going out and asked if she could leave us a key, she refused and said she'd leave the front door open. The next morning, while we were getting ready peacefully, she knocked and told us checkout was at 10 and we had to leave. I reminded her we'd discussed that the night before. She said those were the rules and she needed to open the windows and clean, so we started packing. Luckily, we'd already showered. She began sweeping while we were still there, and in the hallway we felt pushed to get out. As we were leaving, I asked if we could heat some bread and cheese for breakfast. They said no, they were doing renovations. The service was awful, with no friendliness or empathy. We were tired and hungry from traveling, and they wouldn't let us use the kitchen, even though they'd said we could when we arrived. We wouldn't return and I don't recommend the place.

After our long, wonderful trip to Rio Tranquilo, my girlfriend and I arrived exhausted and just wanted to rest. Instead, she told us to get cash because she doesn't accept transfers or debit cards. We managed to withdraw it and paid her, but she gave us no information about the stay and was desperate to get us out the next day. I wouldn't recommend her at all. Kindness and helpfulness are priceless, and she made it seem like our money was all she cared about. Absolutely awful.
