Hostal Maray

For anyone traveling a long distance, this place makes a handy stop. It has comfortable single cabins, plenty of parking, plus a restaurant and breakfast service. It's right alongside the road.

Getting here by public transport is limited, especially if you're trying to reach the bus terminals, and the hotel is a long way from the city center. The rooms look pretty unattractive and dated, like they haven't changed since the 80s. DirecTV was the most modern, high-quality thing I noticed. I didn't eat here, and they stop serving food after 10 PM.

The staff were very accommodating. They offered to bring our car right to the cabin door, and since we had an early departure the next day, they even brought our breakfast the night before. The food itself was barely prepared, though, with a container of fruit being about the most ready-made item. The hot water they brought wasn't enough for everyone in the room. There were problems in the cabin too. The beds had a strange, slightly unpleasant smell. I know some disinfectants smell that way, but I didn't like it. The shower water never got to a comfortable temperature, so I was freezing, and the heater couldn't keep the room warm overnight. I also woke up to the refrigerator making a loud noise for quite a while. We tried unplugging it, but that didn't help.

The restaurant service is very good. It's a comfortable, really nice place to unwind.
