Los Tientos

The check-in was very disorganized. Nobody showed me which apartment I was meant to stay in. I also found three leaks in the ceiling, which looked like a lack of maintenance. The hot water lasted no more than four minutes, and there was long, matted hair and bits of toenail on the floor. Cristian tried to help most of the time, but his attitude didn’t feel genuine and seemed unpleasant. In the front yard where all the cars park, he kept a female turkey and four or five chicks in a tiny handmade cage, amid all the noise and stress. They looked very stressed, and the mother was always defensive, trying to protect her poults. I confronted him about the birds’ poor conditions, but he didn’t seem to care. I asked how he’d feel being confined in such a small cage, and he replied that he wasn’t a turkey. To me, that showed no respect for other beings and no empathy for sentient animals.

It’s well located, about a four-block walk from downtown. The rooms are basic, but fine for spending the night. The cabin could use more cleaning overall. The bathroom smelled clean when we arrived, but after a while it started smelling like mud. The shower leaked and left the floor outside soaked; the sink leaked too, into a tray underneath that we had to empty constantly. It was already late, and we had no other options because everywhere we called was full.

A great spot to rest, clean, cozy, and comfortable. The owner was friendly and attentive during our stay. Food places, downtown, and tourist spots are all very close, less than a 10-minute walk.

Horrible! The cabins were badly insulated, and the heating was awful in sub-zero winter weather. I was freezing, the beds were terrible, and there was nothing to cook with. I give it -50,000.
