Costanera Hostel

The breakfast was homemade, generous, and had plenty of variety, including vegan options. We came back a couple of days later and would happily return again. The rooms and common spaces were well heated, clean, and cozy, with a great view of the ocean. Service felt like being at home, and the restaurant at Dalcahue was just steps away.

The breakfasts here were our favorite across 60 days of travel, and the service from Mrs. Doris and her daughters was so kind and attentive. We stumbled on this Dalcahue hostel through Google Maps and only booked two nights, though we could have happily stayed much longer. Out of all the hostels, hotels, apartments, and other places we stayed in South America, this was the best. We paid 50,000 CLP a night for a triple room with a shared bathroom and breakfast included, or €65.45 per night. For the three of us, that came to €20.80 per day, a bargain compared with what places in this part of Chile usually cost. The value for the price is hard to beat, even next to places charging the same or more. 1000% recommended. If you're passing through Dalcahue or heading to Castro, stay a night and especially make time for breakfast at the Costanera Hostel in Dalcahue.

The bay view is incredible, and breakfast is delicious, so don't miss it. We found the place relaxing and comfortable, and the service was excellent and very friendly. Highly recommend it.

The owner is very friendly, and the breakfasts are exquisite. It’s right in the center, facing the sea, and the place is welcoming and impeccably clean. I highly recommend it.
