Cabanas Lomas Del Lago

The owners are super nice, and the cabanas are affordable, especially considering the lovely view across 3 or 4 volcanos.

There’s about 1 km of gravel road just before the property, though it’s in good condition. Once there, everything was peaceful and well kept: the cabins were clean and fully equipped, and the terrace had a beautiful view of the lake and volcanoes. The pool is set apart from the cabins in a more private spot, and there’s a playground for kids. It was a great place to rest. The owner was attentive whenever we needed anything, so I’d gladly recommend Cabañas Lomas del Lago. You can’t go wrong! 😉

The owner’s angry call when we were leaving turned our stay into a really bad experience. She said we’d stained a bed runner, blamed my daughter for going into the room wet, and kept accusing us even after I explained we had no liquids or cleaning products and had left nothing wet on the bed. We ended up paying an extra 1 UF (Unidad de Fomento, a Chilean unit of account) just to get her to stop bothering us. I think she may have accidentally left a cloth with diluted bleach on the bed frame while cleaning, since the mark looks like a bleach stain and diluted bleach takes about 30 minutes to work. It was already there when we arrived. I noticed it but didn’t think anything of it. I won’t return. You need a vehicle to reach the cabins, as they aren’t accessible on foot. Ours was relatively clean, though we saw some spiders, and the two peaceful dogs, including a Great Dane, often go inside. The pool had beetles and several leaves from the trees; my daughter spent quite a while cleaning it. The place is far from the lake but has a nice view of Osorno volcano. The kitchen keys in our cabin were broken. I can see why some people might like the place, but it’s no longer an option for me.

The cabins are lovely and really well equipped. The playground is a lot of fun, and the pool has an incredible view of the lake and volcanoes. Highly recommend it.
