Altiplanico Rapa Nui

The location by the sea is lovely for watching the sunset, and the staff were friendly and welcoming during our stay. Breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty to choose from, freshly cooked omelets, and a wonderful tea selection. The room had termites, leaving a mess on the bedsheets every day. We told the staff, but nothing was done and no room change was offered, which was disappointing. There is no air conditioning, and WiFi only works in reception. At this price, both should really be standard, especially since other hotels on the island have them. There are good points, but the place needs improvements to meet expectations for the price.

The ocean view makes up for being a little way from downtown. It's close to the last Moai, an easy 15-minute walk for a fantastic sunset. The restaurant serves excellent food, with a reasonably good wine list, and all the staff were courteous, professional, and very friendly.

The hotel and bungalows are beautiful, and the island is fantastic. The service team is trying hard, and we love them for it. But by international standards, this is at most a 3-star hotel. Breakfast was rather poor, and the food and rooms felt overpriced even for Rapa Nui. There's no WiFi or internet. The location is a bit outside town, so be aware of that, and don't trust the internet photos.

It's a decent hotel with a great view and location, but the lack of internet in the rooms really spoiled things for me. You can get online in the common area, though the connection there is poor. We came to the island for experiences we wanted to share with family and friends, so having no usable internet is a big problem in the 21st century.
