Mamma Nui Glamping

The garden setting felt homey, and the short walk from the coast road was worth it. We’re both vegetarian, so it was nice to have options. We had pasta and salad, then shared a chocolate volcano for dessert. There was a great range of craft beer, too. We had a lovely evening.

The staff were really friendly, and the food was delicious. Mamma Nui is a great dinner spot when you're visiting Easter Island. I’d recommend giving it a try while you’re staying in Hanga Roa. You won't be disappointed.

I’ve been three times, and each visit was top quality. It’s a clean, really nice-looking local restaurant, with kind and helpful service, tasty food, and a huge craft beer selection.

The cooking was far below standard, and the long waits between courses didn’t make sense given the quality. Cleanliness was more like a surf shack, not a place charging premium prices. The worst part was fleas constantly biting my feet and lower legs. This was about the only place open on Christmas Eve. I’d heard good things, so I accepted the expensive prices, but I couldn’t have been more disappointed. Even by Rapa Nui standards, the service was painfully slow for no clear reason. They need to rethink what kind of place they want to be. It felt too expensive and pretentious for a surf shack, but not polished or competent enough to be fine dining.
