I had booked through airbnb, but car trouble kept me from getting there. It was low season, and my wife checked from her account and saw they still had availability, so I don’t think they were turning guests away. When I asked for a refund, they refused, including the cleaning fee, which they hadn’t earned. The owner didn’t seem fair at all. Felt like a typical tourist trap, willing to do anything for a dollar in low season.

We had pizza that was delicious, and the Quinoa salad was a real treat. The prices were very reasonable, especially with the spectacular views over the Palena River valley and Melimoyu volcano. Service came with a smile, and there was a good range of drinks, including wines, Tepaluma, a locally distilled gin, and beers from nearby micro breweries. The hotel’s a perfect place to chill out if you happen to drink too much.

The fireplace was great for drying our wet gear, and the staff were accommodating when we made last minute requests. We loved the atmosphere too. This was our favorite hotel in Patagonia.

We came to try the pasta, and the lasagna was among the best I’ve ever had. Serving it in a bowl de greda really added to the flavor and the whole culinary experience. The gnocchi was very good too, but the lasagna was King! Crema de sapayo was beyond perfect. Need a change of palette? Come here!

The restaurant food was good, and breakfast was nice, with jugos naturales. Rooms were spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and spoke English.
