El Arbol Eco-Lodge - Hostel

A green, natural little oasis in the city, with trees, bushes, plants, and dogs. I felt peaceful and relaxed there, totally my kind of vibe. Wish I could've stayed longer.

The property itself is beautiful and thoughtfully done, and the location is great, about a 10 minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the mall and supermarkets. Nico is a lovely owner, and I enjoyed the stay, though how well you sleep depends on which tent you're in since you can hear every noise other people make. The photos are a bit misleading: the kitchen shown isn't available to glamping guests. The glamping kitchen needs an upgrade. It's not very clean or well equipped, just a gas camping stove, and two burners need repair. The utensils weren't clean either. One bench is nearly falling apart. The women's bathroom door wouldn't close. There are no windows in the toilets and showers, so they get dark when you close the door, and there's no daytime lighting. The warm water didn't work properly. I wish the care and passion put into the rest of the property extended to the glamping area. Still, I'd recommend it as a cool experience, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful.

The trails and cabins are lovely, and the location in La Serena is beautiful. Breakfast in the morning was awesome.

We stayed in the Matrimonial suite and had a good breakfast. It's a great spot in La Serena, just a 5-10 minute walk from the beach. Getting a cab from the bus terminal or airport is easy.
