It was calm, not a party hostel, and the building felt very secure. Our short stay at Hostal El Punto was really enjoyable. It's an easy walk to the bus terminal, town square, and japanese garden. The bathroom was clean, the bed decent, and the service great. Reception opened at 8am, and we could leave our luggage then. Since we were hungry and had a very early checkout, they let us change our breakfast option to the day we arrived. Breakfast was a generous spread.

Such a beautiful, well-kept hostel with a really peaceful feel, in a practical location near the bus terminal. The shower was the best we've had in chile, hot with great pressure. Their Cafe food is great too, especially the amazing pumpkin soup. You can tell a lot of love and care went into the details. Thank you.

I meant to stay just a few days and ended up staying longer. It’s a quiet, well-run hostel with a more mature feel, and I’d happily come back. The neighborhood can look a little questionable, though I noticed a Carabinero police compound farther down the road as I was leaving. There are nice courtyards, plus a kettle, fridge, and microwave for everyone to use. Breakfast is tasty, with some good add-ons if you feel like treating yourself. The Japanese garden is about a 5-10 minute walk away, costs 1000 CLP to enter, and is open from 10 to 5. Recommended.
