Hostal Valle Mistral - Hostel

We loved the garden, with its hundreds of different plants and birds, and the rooftop is a lovely spot for watching the sunset. They sometimes have sunset parties there. For me, this is the best hostel in La Serena. Thanks so much to Cesar, Christina and Mitchel for making us feel at home.

There’s a kitchen, the WiFi is fast, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The place is clean, safe, and right in the center. Breakfast was nice, and there are lots of shared spaces for meeting other travelers or just relaxing and enjoying the weather.

The staff were nice and attentive, and otherwise it was a good stay. The only problem was arriving late in the evening to find there was no hot water left. They heat it with rooftop heaters.

The rooms are spacious, and the location is lovely. Staff were helpful. My only comment is that loud music in the garden carried on late into the evening.
