Hotel Fuente Del Mar

The place looked nice, but the way it was handled was awful. Even though I had booked and paid four months ahead, someone else was in my room when I arrived. I had to move to an emergency hostel, and they still tried to charge me the same amount. The owner seemed irresponsible and greedy, focused only on the money. Coordination and service were terrible.

The welcome was good, but everything else felt more like basic hostel service. Breakfast was identical every day, the Wi-Fi was awful, and even the hairdryer had to be shared with other guests. They ran out of gas, too. At night we asked for a cup of tea and offered to pay, but they refused anyway. Very poor service.

I was able to sleep peacefully, and the attentive staff made this a workable stop when I couldn't find anywhere else. For the price, it seemed fair, and I might return if I had nothing better booked. The rooms were tiny and cramped, like caves, the Wi-Fi never worked, and breakfast was mediocre. The neighborhood didn't appeal to me much, either. Poor lighting made it hard to walk back at night. Parking is handled by someone else, so each time I wanted to leave I had to ask them to let me in, which got tedious. It would do for a stop while seeing the city before moving on.

The friendly staff and central location make it a handy, affordable base for sightseeing and tours. If you arrive well before check-in, they'll let you in for a small extra charge. It's clean, with daily maid service, good Wi-Fi and cable TV, though the place is small. Breakfast is basic but tasty. Don't expect luxury, and it's closer to a hostel than a hotel, but it delivers what it promises.
