I couldn’t believe these simple, lovely cabins were right across from the beach, until I saw them. There’s hot water and satellite TV, and the owners are nice and accommodating, doing what they can to make you comfortable. Pichilemu is a wonderful place to visit, and we’ll return for the surf competitions.

The price made this a particularly bad experience, since the lodge isn’t cheap. The wood-burning stove had a rusted, faulty chimney, so smoke came into the house when it was lit. I also found cockroaches in the master bedroom, as shown in the picture, and the double bed was disappointing because the mattresses sagged. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

The cabin gave the four of us a clean, comfortable place to stay for a restful week. It was well built, and housekeeping came while we were out exploring, which I appreciated as a sign they cared about helping us get the rest we wanted. The setting is quiet and a nice escape from everyday life, with attentive service and the beach and other points of interest in Pichilemu nearby. People can have different ideas about what they want from a place, but it met our needs. My thanks to Lodge Terra Mar.
