The name gives the wrong impression: it isn’t a hostal and has nothing to do with surfing. The rooms are very small, though they’re fine for a stay of just a few nights. In a country as lovely and friendly as this one, the place somehow felt okay but lacking any warmth. Breakfast was two breads, a small butter packet, and two pieces of cheese. That’s fine as far as it goes, but there wasn’t even milk for coffee, and the host didn’t seem interested in arranging any. I’d pick somewhere with better vibes.

Marcel is friendly and very helpful, and his English is excellent. He can point you toward good places nearby for waves, wind, and kitesurfing. Breakfast is included, with an ocean view across the road.

The bathroom could use a lot of work. There don’t seem to be many guests, perhaps because Pichilemu has so many accommodation options. That can work in your favor: you can often book a bed and have the whole room to yourself, effectively getting a private room for $20.

Dust was everywhere, and there was mold that looked years old in the shower and around the floor. The price was far too high, and if you aren’t fluent in Spanish, you may feel like a burden. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Marcel and Natalia are so friendly and make the stay great. The beds are perfect, and breakfast comes with a view of the sea. A great hostel to stay at.
