Spa Pirque

Really great.

The peace and quiet are a real plus, and this is a relaxing escape from Santiago without going too far. Since children under 15 aren't allowed, it's especially restful. Just bear in mind the kitchen closes early, so people tend to go out to eat in Pirque at night. Two things could be better: the towels were so rough they felt like they were exfoliating me, hahaha. We also tried two kinds of massage and couldn't tell much difference beyond being covered in oil. Aside from that, everything was great.

We booked a spa day for two with a cabin, and it was a tremendous success. I felt like a king. The staff gets a 7, the service was good, and the place is so disconnected from everything that it's extremely relaxing. The food could be better, though what we ate was already exquisite. Maybe the calm setting naturally encourages healthier eating!

The setting is beautiful, but the room we got after checking in was nothing like the ones shown on social media. The floor had a clear change in level, so my feet weren't even when I lay down. At reception, they said changing rooms would cost extra. When I asked why I should pay to move to a room where I could actually rest, they offered another room that also fell short of the advertised one. I turned it down and went back to my original uneven room. Later they called to say they'd move me at no extra cost, this time to the kind of room they show online. Before making the change, they sarcastically asked, "Are you an architect?!" I said yes, much to their dismay. I put a cylindrical jar on the floor, and it rolled down and hit the back wall of the cabin. If they really have rooms like this, I suggest they at least offer a price difference and a genuine choice of a decent room where guests can rest and enjoy the relaxation package they've booked. That might spare others an unpleasant experience like mine.
