Hostal French Andes

The bed was comfortable, the place fairly clean, and the location good. But the rooms were very noisy, with thin walls and ceilings, so you could clearly hear neighbors talking. There was a lot broken too: the shower head and door, the toilet buttons, and all but one cooker on the stove. Poor ventilation left everything damp, with condensation and lots of MOLD. The curtains and window sills were green, and nothing would dry. It's ok for the price.

The Japanese style pod was small, but it suited me, and I liked having some privacy in a hostel. The bathrooms were clean, the decor modern, and the kitchen was really nice and cleaned every day. Staff were friendly and gave me advice, including suggesting Termas Los Pozones, which turned out cheaper and more natural than Termas Geometricas. I took a spontaneous solo trip to Pucon and needed somewhere cheap. It's rare to find this much quality for such a good deal. I don't usually write reviews, but this was the best hostel I've ever stayed in and deserved the praise.

The room worked great for us, with a separate space for the kids, a kitchenette, and a balcony looking toward the volcano. It was close to town, and the price was the best deal we found. Boom baby.

We were four friends in a private room for four, but there were no lockers or any way to secure our belongings. Housekeeping took $100 from us and ate some of our food. The owner saw on the security cameras that she was the only person besides us who had been in the room, but he didn't care. He said we must have stolen the money from each other. He was rude, shouted, and couldn't explain or justify what had happened. Don't book this hostel 🚨
