Hostel Melinda

We were in a rush when we arrived and stayed just one night. The place was absolutely awful, and I wouldn't recommend it. There was no sign of cleaning: the house smelled terrible, the facilities were a mess, and the bunk beds had fleas. The double bed smelled musty. The bathrooms had broken walls, and the shower stall was caked with limescale. The whole house creaked when the owner walked around with her cane. Her husband was rude and arrogant when we asked questions. Terrible service.

I booked here, but the smell and lack of cleanliness hit me as soon as I entered, and I was speechless. It didn't seem to have even the basic amenities a hostel should have, so I canceled right away. It's hard to leave a bad review about an elderly couple, but thinking about the traveler, this wasn't a pleasant or comfortable place. I'm sorry, but I had to say it.

A terrible stay. The whole place was a mess and completely unhygienic, with an awful smell, fleas in the beds, and a bathroom in terrible condition. The reception staff were incompetent. My brother asked about the bathroom and the owner's husband was rude to him. If you want to wake up covered in bites, this is the place, the hostel has an insect infestation. The attached video shows the bunk beds. We paid a high price for one night of terror in a disgusting hovel. Puerto Natales was in high season, and finding a room for just one night was difficult, but this place should be shut down for health reasons.

The price is far too high for what you get. The place is unclean, the smell is awful, and reception was unfriendly. I'd sooner sleep outside than spend a night there. Avoid it at all costs.
