Hotel Yellow Submarine

The stay was a real letdown. The bathrooms felt cramped and poorly laid out, and with so many people they often seemed unclean. Breakfast was terrible, with few choices, poor quality, and food that wasn’t fresh. The heater didn’t work at all, leaving the room extremely uncomfortable, especially at night. When we raised it, the host was impolite and unhelpful instead of trying to fix it. Service, facilities, and comfort were all far below expectations. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We had to make an unexpected stop in Punta arenas because of a travel problem, and arrived late on our first stop in chile without enough cash to pay. The host was incredibly gracious and let us stay, then helped arrange a transfer. Pedro went above and beyond, and we’re truly grateful.

The location was great, and the price was pretty good too. I stayed for a week and really enjoyed it. The owners are kind and attentive, and live right at the property.

Be careful with the price memos on the counter and door. I felt the owner was trying hard to make a profit from customers, and that the owner potentially treated people differently based on their races. Pay him generously to avoid unpleasantness. The room was small and not clean, and needs upgrades before this can be a real hotel. Try to avoid this hotel if you have other options.
