Right now, there's a beautiful cafeteria open that's absolutely worth a visit, plus one cabin that sleeps four.

With a car, it's easy to explore the area, and there's a wonderful lake nearby. Ask about the cabins since there are only a few, which helps keep the place peaceful and secure. You can arrange tours around different parts of the island, enjoy a delicious curanto, or just take a walk nearby. The lodge staff are lovely to chat with, and the food is good, with breakfast included and made to your liking. It's a magical place to get away from city life, whether you're spending time with family or having a beautiful honeymoon.

It's still an amazing place, but it feels practically abandoned now. The restaurant, for instance, is gone, and there don't seem to be any services at all. The cabins are fine if that's all you're looking for, but honestly I felt ripped off. I wish I'd visited when all the facilities were operating.

Rare birdwatching in the archipelago is one of the draws here, along with the beach and the Aituy River mouth. The cabins are built from native wood and tucked into a myrtle forest, with wide trails for exploring the area. Mistico Lodge offers plenty of thrills.

The cabins are in good shape and set in lush native forest. Service was excellent, and the food was very good, with thoughtful details.
