Hotel Ontiveros

Laundry service worked well: my clothes were washed and back the next day. There's a pleasant outdoor area for eating or having a drink, and the restaurant has several beers. The food was good, though service was just okay, about average for Chile. It isn't part of the hotel, but you can put the bill on your room. Hotel Ontiveros is a decent place just outside downtown San Fernando. It's away from the freeway, so nights are relatively quiet, and the city is about a five-minute drive away. The grounds are cared for and there's plenty of parking. Staff are friendly. Breakfast is typical for a Chilean hotel: cold cuts, bread, instant coffee, a limited cereal selection, fruit, pastries, and eggs cooked to order. My queen room was a little small, but had enough room for two pieces of luggage and a small desk. There was no clock. The bathroom was nicely updated with marble-style tile. I gave it three stars for a few things: no air conditioning or mini-fridge in the room, and old, poor-quality carpet. Still, it wasn't a bad stay, and Hotel Ontiveros is decent.

Friendly service, clean and quiet, and reasonably priced.

I was here in October 2025 for the accessible tourism event in San Fernando. The hotel is pleasant and attractive, on the edge of town. I'd suggest coming by car if you stay here. There's parking by the entrance and a designated space for people with disabilities. Inside, ramps and few stairs make it easier to get around, and there's an accessible room. The rooms generally met expectations. During my visit, guests could help themselves to as much as they wanted in the breakfast room, and staff offered to help with anything. Their kindness was another highlight of my stay.

The map makes it look far away, but it's actually close to several points of interest around the area. We arrived in the evening and appreciated having a restaurant on site. The breakfast was generous, and the staff gave excellent service. A great place to stay near San Fernando and close to Route 5. I'd recommend it 100%.
