Cabañas Valle de Montañas

The cabin is in rough shape and needs some care. The bunk bed was creaky and uncomfortable, and although breakfast was included, we had to prepare it ourselves. The hot tub was too hot to use because there was no cold water to adjust the temperature. When we asked for a refund, they refused, saying the service had been provided even though we weren’t happy with it. The hostess seemed to be in a bad mood all the time and didn’t know how to treat guests. The only things we appreciated were being allowed to check in an hour early, the friendly young man at reception, and the kittens. The place also wasn’t properly set up.

The breakfast for 5 was skimpy: 2 yogurts, 2 dried tangerines, 1 banana, 1 apple, bread, raw eggs, and juice. They should explain the breakfast menu more clearly. The only good parts were the kind young man with glasses who opened the door and the cats. As someone who works in tourism and hospitality, I found the experience really disappointing given how good the location and space could be. Everything felt neglected, the kitchen wasn’t well equipped, and the bathroom was filthy. The bunk bed was loose and uncomfortable, impossible to sleep on. The space is big but badly used, and the cleanliness and management need work. We paid 100,000 CLP per group to use the hot tub, but didn’t use it because the water was too hot, and there wasn’t enough water to fill it due to problems. The manager suggested trying it the next day at midday, in the heat. We didn’t get a refund either, because she said the water was fine. I think a manager with a track record of good service could make a real difference.

There was no water when we arrived, and the kitchen faucet was broken. The included breakfast was for guests to make themselves, with raw eggs and cold bread. The cabins weren’t maintained well, and the layout was inconvenient, with the pool and hot tub far from the main accommodations. We paid separately for the hot tub, but couldn’t use it because of the water temperature. They wouldn’t refund the 100,000 pesos per hot tub because they had already turned it on. Terrible service.

The manager was a 10 out of 10, and the service was excellent, with everyone paying close attention to what we needed. The cabins were clean and comfortable, with everything we could want. Thanks so much for letting us celebrate our 29th anniversary here. We’ll be back soon.
