The family run property's restaurant is at the front, and you have to walk through it to reach the rooms. It serves lunch only, with no room service or dinner. The food was good and fairly priced, though the place isn't fancy. Maria Colque manages the property and was very kind and polite to us. Towels were good, the comfortable bed had plenty of sheets, and the bedroom and bathroom were clean. Wi-Fi worked about 90% of the time, slowing down once or twice before coming back quickly. There were two chairs and a table outside our door where we could dry clothes in the sun, plus a small clothesline in the open area in front of the room. The shower got very hot when it worked properly, but water pressure was very poor from 8:30am to 5pm. They said the restaurant kitchen was the reason, but I believe they turn off the pump to save water. Some evenings, there was still no pressure at 8pm because they'd forgotten to turn it back on. The room was extremely hot and had no fan, making it miserable to sleep. We had to leave the door open for air and lost our privacy. When I asked for a fan, the woman in charge said she'd check, but never followed up. The location is handy for the three main roads: north to termas de Puritama/Machuca, west to Bolivia, and south to all the Lagunas. It's also close to the 24h/7 COPEC gas station, and there's a tiny market across the road that closes at 11pm. Since I had a rental car, I always found street parking. There's also a rear parking lot accessed from the other street, with at least two shaded spaces. The owner said there's a city security camera on the corner, so the place seemed safe. We could've had a very good breakfast by bringing our own fruit, coffee and peanut butter. The basic breakfast included three slices each of cheese and ham, butter, a little fruit jelly, two tea bags, two little Nespresso coffee powders, a thermal bottle of boiled water, three fresh breads, and a not natural peach juice. Breakfast was scheduled from 8:30am to 9:30am, which felt late for days when we planned early park visits and hikes. One day we arrived at 9:10am and had to wait because the woman responsible wasn't there yet. Before arriving, communication was poor: the number listed on Booking was Maria's husband's, and he doesn't work there. He could take hours or even a day to answer WhatsApp. A sincere message to the owners: this place could be a 10/10 Bed & Breakfast. Please put fans in the rooms and keep the water pump on 24/7. It would completely change the experience.

The stay was good value for money. The rooms were a decent size and clean, the shower was warm, and the area was nice and quiet. Staff were attentive, and they even provided a specially made gluten free breakfast. It's not the most central hostel, but everything is a short walk away. The only stressful part was arriving during a sandstorm and being unable to get into the building to check in for about an hour. We messaged the hostal and waited for someone to come let us in. It all worked out in the end.

The hosts were great whenever we needed information or anything else. It's a very clean, quiet and pleasant place to stay.

A really good place close to the center. The Wi-Fi didn't work properly, breakfast was supposed to start at 8:00, but the staff didn't arrive until nearly 9:30. The hot water in my room didn't work.
