Hostel qachi & chentura

We arrived late at night a few days into our trip and were so pleased to find Quachi Chentura. My wife and I are two Canadians on a wild camping trip in northern chile, and after two different hostels in San Pedro de Atacama, this cute, comfortable, clean place run by the nicest family felt like a relief. We felt at ease and welcome, so we stayed an extra night and did laundry before the next leg of our camping trip. We'd booked a room with a private bathroom and shower outside the room. I'd recommend staying here. This feels like a business worth supporting, unlike a bigger place built around "cool vibes". The first hostel had a pool, glamping accommodation and a cool atmosphere, but a closer look showed that everything, especially the kitchen and bathrooms, was dirty. The "Glamping tent" had holes that let insects in. We would've been more comfortable in our pyramid tent. Gracias a Roberta y su familia.

There is a pleasant sitting area to relax, and the rooms and washrooms are clean. It's a nice budget hotel, though it's around a 15-minute walk from the main market. One downside: after the maid leaves in the afternoon, there's nobody available to deal with complaints, if you have any.

Everything felt clean and welcoming. Mrs. Roberta was wonderful, attentive to our comfort and every little detail, and so hardworking, sweet and polite. We're very grateful. Top rating, highly recommended.

With all the sand and dust in the village, it was especially nice that the place was so clean and pleasant. The room was comfortable, and breakfast was generous and tasty. The owner was very kind and accommodating. A nice place to stay in San Pedro de Atacama.
