Hotel Terrantai

It’s just off the main street, so bars and restaurants are easy to reach. From the street, the hotel doesn’t look like much, but inside there’s a real welcome and a peaceful little oasis in the desert. The facilities and service were great, and especially the people made a big difference to my stay.

After a hot day exploring the desert, the pool was such a treat. They also have daily times for snacks, tea, and wine, which we really loved, and gave us a reusable bag and water bottle on arrival that came along on all our tours. Breakfast each morning was fantastic, with local specialties to try. Manager Franklin was so kind. He showed us around when we arrived and remembered us throughout our stay. One of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had, and the best place to stay in Atacama!

The hotel is lovely, with beautiful décor and architecture that reflects Atacameño heritage. It’s easy to wander around downtown San Pedro de Atacama, with cafés, restaurants, and shops all within walking distance. Reception is open around the clock, and Franklin and Christian were attentive and friendly when they welcomed us and showed us around. Our room was clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet, and just right for a couple. Housekeeping made the bed and changed the towels every day. Breakfast was good, though, as is often the case at hotels, there wasn’t much for vegans. Otherwise, no complaints. I’d highly recommend it!

We spent five nights at Terrantai and would happily stay again if we return to the Atacama. The property is beautiful, and our room was clean and charming. They offer complimentary snack, tea, and wine and cheese times, where you can enjoy local food and wine in a lovely setting. The staff really made the stay special. Everyone was friendly, professional, and helpful, and we had an incredible time. Highly recommend this place!
