BMB Suites Apartments

We gave up on our four-night booking and asked management to cancel after finding cockroaches in the bedroom and kitchen, along with dirty windows, stained kitchen chairs, large carpet stains, and mold on several walls. The bathroom fan made a loud, constant shriek whenever the light was on. The Wi-Fi was barely usable: more than twenty nearby access points on the same 2.4 ghz spectrum caused so much interference that even browsing a few feet from the router was impossible. Streaming was out of the question. The building itself had a sewage leak on the day we arrived, and the smell of flatulence was strong as soon as we entered. Posters in the elevator warned of cockroaches and active fumigation in the apartments. Finding reception was difficult too. It was in an unmarked room on the second floor of building B, indistinguishable from the apartments. The staff there were somewhat helpful, but their English was very limited, and some spoke none at all. The lobby shown on the booking website was deceptive. It belongs to the “Huerfanos 1400” building and has no connection to BMB Suites. BMB Suites is an apartment rental service, not a hotel. That night the building's hot water was shut off for maintenance. The cancellation terms meant we couldn't get even one day's refund. We knew what we had signed, but a hospitable place would make an exception when the accommodation is defective. A good hotel might not rent rooms on a day with no hot water. Getting in touch with management after checkout was infuriating. The person at the service desk, whom I'll call N, said only his manager “J” could authorize a refund, and told us to email him or return later that day. We emailed several times over two weeks, left our number with N repeatedly, and kept calling the office. J never replied about our refund request, and we eventually gave up. It's absurd to have to chase a manager for days when there's a serious problem, or to rely on email because they won't show up or answer. With a sewage leak, fumigation, cockroaches, dirty surroundings, and no hot water, good luck getting help with anything else. We strongly recommend avoiding BMB Suites. There are similarly priced places nearby, so there's no compelling reason to choose it. We found the whole setup a con job.
