Hotel Eurotel Providencia

I had to leave a week early after my $200 headphones went missing from my room. The housekeeper had taken down my “No, do not enter” sign and left chocolates where the headphones had been. I didn’t feel safe after that and had to find somewhere else to stay. I’d seen other reviews describing theft too, and only booked because my workshops were being held in the building. Management tried to work out a resolution, including credit for part of my stay. The hotel was otherwise nice, and the workshop space was very nice, but the front desk staff could have been much friendlier. The place I’m staying now feels more welcoming. I’d suggest hiring people who make guests feel welcome and want to stay.

The breakfast isn’t elaborate, but it’s very good for the price, and the manageress there was attentive and helpful. Housekeeping was excellent once they arrived, and Niche service was helpful too. I got an iron and hair dryer sent up quickly when I asked. The reception felt “very Chilean,” meaning not especially friendly. I was aware of older theft complaints, but had no problems myself. The Eurotel is basic and a bit worn, and the gym is very basic and tired. The rooms are clean, though, and it’s centrally located near some of Santiago’s best restaurants. There’s no working bar or restaurant for business dinners. If you want something simple, clean, and central, this place may suit you.

Breakfast was superb, the rooms were clean, and the reception staff were consistently very helpful.

Some of the staff stole my sunglasses. I asked the reception desk for help and got no reply. Terrible service!
