Hotel Baleares

It was okay.

This was our second time staying here, and we’ll definitely choose the hotel again. Since our first good experience in 2019, it’s been getting nicer, and as of May 10, 2025, that progress is still clear. The staff deserve a lot of credit. Rosa from housekeeping is especially dedicated and thorough, always answering questions and sorting out whatever she can, and more. The young man at reception was fantastic too. We also had a short but lovely chat with Jeny over breakfast and talked about all sorts of things. Congratulations to the owners on choosing such excellent people. Many blessings, and thank you.

The rooms had plenty of space and comfortable beds. The young receptionist and one of the women on staff were quite friendly. Still, the owner was arrogant and rude. You’re paying for a service he offers, not asking for a favor. They don’t provide a receipt, invoice, or any proof of payment, and there’s no 24-hour service, which is required of a three-star hotel. I can’t comment on breakfast since we didn’t eat there. The building left a lot to be desired, and seeing rodent traps out in the open was awful. I wouldn’t come back.

The owner of this “hotel” was the most aggressive and unpleasant person I’ve ever dealt with. I booked ahead through an app while driving, assuming everything was arranged. He only contacted me through the app, with no email, phone call, or other direct contact. He didn’t reply to any of my messages, then canceled my reservation on his own even though the listing said check-in was available until midnight. I got there around 10:30 PM and was told the room had already been rented to someone else because “I didn’t answer.” The way I was treated was aggressive and disrespectful, as if the problem were my fault. I had to urgently find somewhere else for my family, which was a real hassle. The few shared areas I saw were depressing, with dirty carpets, a musty smell, and a neglected feel. This place doesn’t deserve to be called a hostel. Avoid it at all costs. It doesn’t deserve one star, and any other accommodation would be better than this nightmare.
