Carolina and Nicolas were both genuinely helpful and sincere throughout our stay, and we’re very grateful. Before we left, Carolina arranged a taxi to the bus station for our trip to the coast and cruise. That evening, the bus company changed both the station location, moving it farther away, and the departure time. Nicolas then called the taxi company for us again to update the pickup time, destination and price. We were in Chile for the first time, arriving two and a half days ahead of our cruise from the coastal port of San Antonio so we wouldn’t be rushed. We got to the hotel early, and Nicolas kindly stored our luggage. Carolina also walked us out to the street, pointed out where to find food, reminded us to be careful, and offered ideas for the next day. We chose a hop-on-hop-off sightseeing bus and got on and off wherever we felt like it, just looking around as casual tourists.

The beds on wheels moved while I slept, which was annoying, and the shower had low pressure in a badly designed narrow tub that felt a bit dangerous. Still, I’d recommend the hotel for its good value. The location is central, although arriving on Sunday night felt a little unsafe with the shops closed and hardly anyone around. I stayed four nights in a twin room and was pleasantly surprised despite the less favorable reviews. The check-in staff were friendly, and while the room was dated, I found it okay. The A/C is a window unit, not centralized; WiFi was fine but slow a few times. Breakfast was very good, though it was the same food each day.

There was absurd noise from construction happening inside the hotel, and reception service was terrible. The hotel is on a street with no car access, and parking is three blocks away.

The breakfast was okay, but on the weekend there seemed to be just one knife, and all the fruit tasted like onions. At $68 per night, I’m not sure I’d choose this hotel again. We arrived on Good Friday and were almost satisfied with the room/suite until we turned on the air conditioning. Dirty doesn’t begin to describe it. We politely asked if they could at least clean the filters, but were told that was maintenance and wouldn’t happen until Monday, not housekeeping. We cleaned it ourselves. Then I asked the cleaning lady to do the bathroom again and mop the room, but she never came back. The receptionist looked embarrassed, and I still felt sorry for them. The hotel isn’t bad, but the service left a lot to be desired.

The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had, with good-quality food prepared well. Maybe only the breakfast at a 5-star place in Istanbul was better. The service staff were great too. The hotel itself barely gets 2.5 stars from me: the rooms and equipment are very old, and shower pressure is very low. Watch your step in the hallway, which is covered by a wood board with carpet over it. There’s no spa, sauna, pool, gym, business center, or complimentary tea, coffee or even water. Check out the hangers, too. You can’t take them out, so you’ll have to adjust, ha ha 😅
