Hub Providencia

The rooms at The Hub are well designed to make good use of the space, with kitchenettes and a folding bed that comes down from the wall. Service is friendly, and the rooms are good. It’s in Santiago’s Providencia area, and for the price, you really can’t complain. There’s no room service or hotel restaurant, but they deliver a breakfast box to your room. Downstairs, they’ve partnered with Lusitano, a kind of brasserie serving breakfast, lunch, and food through most of the day. I’d definitely return.

There are lots of places to walk around and sightsee, plenty of choices for food from different cuisines, and shopping too. Wine tours, both near and far, come in short and long versions at reasonable prices. The hotel itself has a great location, cool apartment-style rooms, and awesome staff. Breakfast was very, very good.

The room was simple, clean, and comfortable enough for a few days. I liked the rooftop pool, though the floor gets slippery when you come out of the water. Breakfast was fine at first, but the choices got repetitive after a few days. They charged us for checking in early even though rooms were clearly available. The location is a real plus, with lots of shops and good restaurants within walking distance around Providencia.

The main drawback was how poorly the room had been cleaned. The walls and doors were quite dirty, and although the bed and towels had been bleached, the strong bleach smell lingered on the pillows all night. Breakfast choices were limited, too. Still, I enjoyed the stay. The hotel is easy to find and sits in a lively area with restaurants and bars nearby, plus the metro, a mall, and other attractions are an easy walk away. Reception was helpful, from arranging transfers to coming up when I needed assistance. My room was spacious, with a small kitchen area, seating, a soft bed, and a well lit, roomy bathroom. The price was very good, and I would recommend the hotel.
