The free data SIM ended up being a real perk when I was out during the day, and it helped make up for the WiFi trouble. WiFi worked in reception. The hostel is great value for the price, with bars, restaurants, and coffee shops all easy to walk to. It wasn't the best place I've ever stayed, but the location is fantastic.

The location is great and the hostel itself is fine, but getting through the gate was a ridiculous problem. There’s no key, code, or lock to use, so you have to call the owner and hope they answer and let you in promptly. I was left waiting nearly 10 minutes on three separate occasions. The person answering the calls doesn’t speak English, either. When we came by at 8 am to leave our luggage, the man working there, who insisted he didn’t work there, had a sour attitude and basically scolded us away. Miserable place.

We didn't feel comfortable in the rooms because there was barely any space to move around. They’re tiny and need maintenance, and there’s no fridge or TV. Breakfast was basic, though that normally doesn't bother me. The staff were nice, and about half spoke English. The location is OK, close to Pio Nono street and its nightlife, but the metro is about a 10-minute walk away. Unless you're only staying one day, I'd look for somewhere bigger.

The rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated, and breakfast was great every morning. The staff were really friendly and helpful, too. The location was fantastic. Couldn't have asked for more.
