The staff’s warmth and care, along with the quiet atmosphere, mattered more to us than the older rooms. If you want a sterile, corporate place, this probably isn’t for you. The building has a lovely mid-century feel, with charming details, including a beautiful rear restaurant with dark wood, bright sunlight, and green leaves just outside. There’s a peaceful sculpture park across the street, and restaurants are a short walk across the river. At first, we worried it was far from the tourist area near Plaza de Armas. Then we saw how dirty and noisy that area was, with street vendors and hardly anyone out besides tourists. Chileans in general were gentle, kind, and helpful. The only rudeness we experienced was in the tourist area. We canceled another hotel we’d booked near there so we could return to Teclados. If we’re lucky enough to come back to Santiago, we’ll stay here again. It became our favorite hotel in the city.

The carpet in our dated room was so questionable I wouldn’t trust the five-second rule 😂. Sunday breakfast was missing something every time, whether plates, cups, glasses, food, or juice, so I’d skip it that day. Weekdays were fine. Some nights there was no cold tap water, only really hot water 🥵.

Just steps from downtown restaurants and shopping centers, this is a really nice hotel. The staff were so welcoming, and the breakfast was the best we had during our four weeks touring Argentina and Chile. Special thanks to the reception and breakfast staff, especially Lina.

The room was a letdown. Its windows faced the parking lot, so cars arriving at night lit up the room. The small bathroom had a curtain and wasn’t comfortable.
