Ventana Sur Hostel

Breakfast was delicious and a lovely communal affair, and the hostel seems to bring together great people from all sorts of backgrounds. Ivan is a great host. It’s sociable if you want that, but definitely not a party hostel, which was just what I was looking for. The only downside was that the shower’s hot water was temperamental. It wasn’t a huge problem for a stay of 2-3 nights. I’d highly recommend the place.

The homemade breakfast is really tasty, and the host is about the kindest owner you could meet. The hostel has a lovely, almost magical feel, in a safe neighborhood where it's easy to walk to great food and shops. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

I met some lovely people here and ended up traveling with them for the rest of my vacation, which I'm really grateful for. The host made the place feel warm and homey, and gave me great tips on what to do nearby. It was my first time abroad, traveling alone, and a string of travel problems meant I arrived much later and earlier than planned. After nearly 48 hours of rough travel from the United States, he let me come in extremely early, made me breakfast, helped charge my phone, and got my room ready so I could sleep. He was incredibly welcoming, kind, and accommodating. I'm writing this late, while thinking about my trip as I plan to return to South America this year, but I wanted to share what a great stay I had.

Ivan, the owner, is always ready to help and answer questions. The hostel has a really good vibe, and it's easy to meet other travelers there. They offer free wine tastings and sometimes put on a BBQ so everyone can eat together. I'd happily recommend it.
