B&B Rocas Santo Domingo

The rooms are on the small side, but they’re comfortable, and the bathrooms look newly renovated. Everything was clean and the wifi worked well. Alejandra is full of energy and joy, always smiling. Her English isn’t great, but Google Translate got us through just fine. The living room, dining room, and patio are all comfortable places to spend time, and the beach is about a 20-minute walk away. There’s also a grocery store within walking distance. I stayed at B&B Rocas Santo Domingo before boarding a Celebrity Cruise from San Antonio and would stay again. It’s a lovely, charming stop the night before a cruise, with a short taxi ride to the port. I’d recommend this peaceful place over a noisier or more expensive stay in town.

Alejandra is an incredible hostess, easily an 11 out of 10! The house is cozy and lovely, and the walk through small, pleasant neighborhoods to the local park and beach is quick and easy. A supermarket, pharmacy, and some promising little cafes are about five minutes away on foot. I stayed here the night before joining a cruise ship from San Antonio, and if I ever join a ship down here again, I’ll definitely come back for the night. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for an authentic experience.

Ale was a lovely, flexible host and kindly worked around our schedule. We were there for four nights because of work, and the place was comfortable with a great breakfast. Five stars!

We travel with our baby, but there isn’t a crib available. Even so, this is our regular place to stay whenever we visit Santo Domingo, and we rate it 10/10. It’s cozy and family-friendly, and the hosts make you feel at home and are really helpful. The spacious rooms have comfortable, large beds, a small fridge, some dishes and glasses, plus a table and chair. They’re fine with you bringing in food, and you can heat it in the dining room microwave. Breakfast is delicious and filling.
