Hostal 1009 Valdivia

We didn’t feel safe at this poor hostel. The staff were unfriendly, and the area around it was dark, with strange people hanging around. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The location was excellent, right across from the bus terminal and close to a bus stop. We got around the city and to Niebla using only public transport. The breakfast was very complete, and they offered to store our luggage after checkout. We stayed for two nights. The owner was very sweet, with a real Valdivian personality, and Miria was kind to us too. The room was clean, and we got clean towels both days. They also offered us a hairdryer in case we needed one. The manager was attentive and quickly took care of our concerns. A couple of things to know: the building does sway a little when very large or fast vehicles pass. I read a review mentioning it, and I agree, though it didn’t interrupt our stay. The intercom can also malfunction sometimes, so calling reception directly is best.

The dining room was one of my favorite parts, with room to sit and relax or grab a snack, plus a balcony overlooking Calle Calle. They were kind enough to keep our bags and let us wait there until our ride arrived. The rooms are roomy, air-conditioned, and have Smart TVs, and housekeeping was good. Breakfast was very good too. The location is excellent, though the building vibrates quite a bit, which seems common in this area. A bit of paper or a doorstop under the doors might help keep the vibration from disturbing your sleep.

The room was cozy and comfortable, with a TV and air conditioning. The atmosphere was really pleasant, and the service was spectacular, warm, and friendly. The breakfast buffet had loads of variety and everything was delicious. 💯 Highly recommend.
