The rooftop was nice, and the woman at reception was friendly. The hostel is close to the main attractions, but the neighborhood didn't feel very safe. The facilities were run down, the place had no real atmosphere, and the WiFi didn't reach every room. I wasn't given any activity suggestions, just two dining tips. They run several hostels, so reception isn't always staffed, which I understood. The problem came when I checked out: I was told to get in touch before returning for my luggage. There was a nationwide power outage, and without my keys I could only get in if reception buzzed me through. I called and messaged several times but got no reply, so I waited outside until another guest kindly let me in. It was disappointing to find the owner's mother at reception on her phone. They knew I was coming for my bags and had my contact details, so arranging this could have gone much more smoothly.
