Hotel Castillo Via A Del Mar

We paid 500 for four nights, but I left the next day and got no refund. They didn’t take responsibility for what happened. At first everything seemed fine, then we saw the room: mold all over the shower and a pillow that was disgusting and smelled like dirty hair 🤢. The noise kept me awake until 3 AM. It was a horrible stay, and I wouldn’t recommend the place at all. 🙅🏼‍♀️❌

We spent one night here, and it turned out to be one of our best decisions. The medieval theme runs through the decor, and exploring the castle was my favorite part. The decorated rooms and floors make for some truly magical photos. There are lots of shared spaces too, including living rooms, a dining room, and a barbecue area. Everything was super clean and tidy. The receptionist was very friendly. Breakfast is included, but there’s no other food service, so it may not suit a long stay. Still, I’d happily spend at least one night here again. It was a very pleasant experience.

The gardens are beautiful, and there’s a nice area for smoking. The atmosphere is lovely, which makes the poor cleanliness and so-so service all the more disappointing. Our room looked nothing like the photos and was quite ugly. The bed wasn’t actually king-size, just two mattresses pushed together. The bedding had stains and lint, so it didn’t feel very reassuring. Breakfast was dull too, with dirty cutlery, instant coffee, and old tea that wouldn’t come out of the bag.

If you’re into the medieval period, this place is worth trying. Staying there feels like an adventure, and it’s close to the waterfront for walks, with beautiful views both day and night. The food is average, though breakfast is enough.
