The room was clean and the place itself is nice, but the noise and the way it was handled ruined the stay. A nightclub next door keeps things unbearably loud until 6 AM, so sleeping here is basically impossible. The owner said this had been explained in the confirmation email, but it wasn't mentioned there. You only learn about it from negative reviews or after arriving. The listing claims the rooms are soundproof, which isn't true. The club being nearby isn't the owner's fault, but guests should be told before booking. If I'd known, I wouldn't have chosen it. The service was terrible, and hiding something this important means I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. Bad experience. In Valparaiso, I'd pick a hostel in the hills for the gorgeous views.

The design and atmosphere are really great, and it's a good budget option if you want a private room. Just keep in mind that at certain times on Friday and Saturday nights, it feels like you're right inside a nightclub.
